Window tinting: what the law says in Portugal

Window tinting cuts heat, glare and UV — but there are rules. Here's what's legal in Portugal so you have no surprises at inspection.

Front windows and windscreen

These are the most regulated areas. The law requires a minimum light transmission on the windscreen and front windows to keep the driver's visibility. We only apply films within these limits — legal and approved.

Rear windows

The rear side windows and back window have more freedom and can be much darker, as long as the film is homologated.

Why homologation matters

  • Avoids failing the periodic inspection.
  • Ensures the film doesn't distort your vision.
  • Protects you if you're stopped by the police.

Benefits beyond the look

A good film reduces heat inside the car, protects the upholstery from UV and increases privacy — with a factory look.
